Bob Pedatella has been enjoying giving back to his community for many years. He teaches kids annually about tree planting, stressing it's importance to coincide with National Arbor Day. This year, 2009, Bob and his employee Elvin were in three different counties, Passaic, Bergen, and Morris, enjoying the fine Spring weather with the kids.

On Friday April 24 at Haskell School, Bob taught the third graders how to plant the Eastern Redbud tree (Cercis canadensis) that was donated by Birch Hill Nursery of Wayne. " I tell them about Arbor Day and why we're planting tress - how trees die, how you can protect them and how you can help them survive." It was the eleventh year that Kodiak Landscape Design has planted a tree at Haskell Elementary School. It was also the eleventh year of tree planting at the Kiel School in Kinnelon, with three groups of over 100 children.

It was also their third year at Gingerbread Kids Academy in Wanaque. And this year, for the first time, Bob and Elvin planted a tree with the children at Kradle 2 Kindergarten in Oakland, NJ.
